Bentley hints new Flying Spur – watch the first teaser video!

Bentley Motors has revealed first images and a short video of its next Flying Spur, which will be fully unveiled to the public, later this year.

The British, luxury car maker describes itself in a very short teaser press release as “innovating beyond the existing boundaries of performance, refinement and luxury with the introduction of an all-new four-door Grand Tourer”.

Bentley has been previously described by the automotive press as very conservative when it comes to new models’ design and small changes applied to each of them. The response was new Continental GT, which came with new 6-litre W122 engine and brand-new back styling. By the way, it already has a Startech aero kit, which adds a little bit more attitude to the British design.

All eyes are on Bentley when it comes to Flying Spur. The press is expecting big changes. First off, it is expected to be called by a new name and will have a far more distinctive design, intended to make it stand alone as a model in its own right.

A full range of engines is expected to be launched on the next Flying Spur, including Bentley’s V8 and W12 petrol options, and a plug-in hybrid based around a V6 petrol engine.

As hinted at in the released sketch and video revealed, the model’s styling will follow the themes of the Continental GT but seem to have more distinct surfaces and sharper lines.

We have to wait another few months to see the final result but in the meanwhile we will keep you posted with any leaks that might appear online. The Crewe-based car maker has also developed a special website for those who would like to register their interest in the new model.
