There's no better road-going encapsulation of Ferrari's F1 experience than the 458. Its 4.5-litre, V8 mid-mounted engine was the first of its kind to feature direct fuel injection, and its power is channelled through a seven-speed dual-clutch auto gearbox lifted out of the Mercedes SLS AMG. ABS and carbon ceramic brakes make it capable of pulling to a halt from 100kmh (62mph) in around 32 metres, or just over 100 feet.
Capable of a 210mph top speed, and launching from the start line to just over 60mph in 3.4 seconds, the Ferrari 458's design is intended to create substantial downforce to keep the car pinned to the road, with input on this front coming from the ultimate authority - Michael Schumacher.
