Novitec’s Rolls Royce department, SPOFEC have just released a new conversion for the Ghost Series II, provocatively named ‘Black One’. The tuning upgrades from SPOFEC combine sleek black bodywork panels and lowering springs with aggressive 22” gold wheels, carbon ceramic brakes and 709 horsepower- a real beauty and the beast combination.
On the outside, the upgraded luxury sedan impresses with its sporty and elegant designer outfit. The legendary Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament remains chrome plated, but the other factory panels have been replaced with matte black bodywork components. The mighty, matte gold-coloured 22-inch wheels provide a striking juxtaposition and create even more drama with the ride-height lowered.

Bodywork
The bodywork has been developed with sporty and elegant aerodynamic-enhancement components, fitted perfectly and made from especially lightweight, yet high-strength carbon fibre.
The SPOFEC front component gives the Ghost an even more distinctive face and the new front bumper is designed to replace its production counterpart in its entirety. Thanks to an integrated front spoiler, front axle lift at high speeds has been reduced, further optimizing handling stability.
The SPOFEC side skirts come in two versions to accompany both the short and long wheelbase Ghost models. They create a streamlined transition between the front and rear wheel arches and visually give the Rolls-Royce a lower and longer stance.
The three-piece SPOFEC rear bumper provides the perfect backdrop for the two black-coated tailpipes of the all new sports exhaust system. Together with the rear spoiler lip on the boot lid (which also comes in a clear-coated carbon fibre version), the Rolls Royce has a particularly athletic profile at the rear.
Brakes & Suspension
The SPOFEC suspension module is calibrated specifically to the 22-inch wheels and optimizes the car’s handling thanks to the lowered centre of gravity. It intervenes in the control of the air suspension of the Ghost and lowers the vehicle by about 40 millimetres without affecting the unrivalled ride comfort of the luxury liner.
The SPOFEC high-performance, carbon-ceramic braking system optimizes not only active safety, but thanks to its 38 kilogram weight saving, it also helps optimize the car’s handling. The vented discs measure 405 x 30 and 395 x 38 millimetres on the front and rear axle of the Ghost.
Engine
In combination with the carbon-ceramic, high-performance braking system and the eight-speed automatic transmission, the SPOFEC Black One is also perfectly primed for the increase in power output and torque of the 6.6-litre V12 twin-turbo engine (up to 521 kW / 709 HP and 974 Nm). The enormous amount of torque provides an even grander driving experience.
The processor-controlled SPOFEC N-TRONIC plug-and play performance module is adapted to the electronic engine management system. Specially programmed mapping for injection and ignition and a moderate increase in boost pressure bump the power output significantly.
This results in significantly improved performance and an even more superior power delivery of the 12-cylinder engine under normal driving conditions. The SPOFEC Black One will go from 0 – 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds, although the top speed remains electronically limited to 250 km/h to protect the tyres.
Wheels
The SPOFEC Black One runs on exclusive, king-sized 22-inch wheels that were developed specifically for this edition and feature an extraordinary matte gold paint finish with dimensionally offset spokes. The SPOFEC SP1 wheels are 9Jx22 at the front and 10.5Jx22 on the rear axle, making full use of the available space below the wheel arches. Technology partner Pirelli supplies the ideal high-performance tyres for the upgraded Rolls-Royce Ghost in sizes 265/35 ZR 22 and 295/30 ZR 22.
If the matte gold is a little bit too Subaru for you, then the wheels are also available in matte black, silver, titanium coloured, or in black with polished surface.
Sports Exhaust
The SPOFEC Black One concept also includes a sports exhaust system. The fully stainless-steel sports exhaust weighs up to five kilograms less and is optionally available with actively controlled butterfly valve. It allows the driver to adjust the exhaust note via remote control from the cockpit between decidedly subtle and sporty.
Of course, SPOFEC also offer interior customization as per the owners request and all components are also available individually and in any desired colour.
