Novitec refines the Ferrari 812 Superfast sound and aerodynamics

The new Ferrari 812 Superfast was recently the focus of Novitec developments. German engineers designed carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components, added staggered lightweight wheels combination, sport exhaust system, lower springs and front lift system. The V12 engine is yet untouched, but as Novitec stated on the recent press release, they are already working on it…

The combination of front spoiler lip for the production bumper and the surround for the centre air intake gives the two-door an even more dynamic appearance. They also reduce front-axle lift, which results in even greater handling stability, especially at high speeds. To achieve an optimal aerodynamic balance, the rear end also gained a rear spoiler lip.

Bespoke rocker panels route the airflow even more precisely along the sides of the vehicle and give the 812 Superfast a lower and sleeker visual stance. There are also two carbon air outlets on the hood and the surrounds for the side air outlets aft of the front fender wells with the list finishing on carbon caps for the side mirrors.

The 812 sits on brand new wheels co-developed with Vossen. There are two different designs to choose from, both featuring a staggered combination of 21 inches for the front wheels and 22 inches at the back with a whopping 12.5 inches width. The NF8 Directional and NF9 wheels are available in a wide range of colours and can be customised with brushed or polished surfaces.

Novitec prepared specially designed and sport calibrated springs for those who prefer a sportier driving style. They lower the car by 35 millimetres, which might create a small problem with road potholes and bumps. However, one touch of a button will raise the front by 40 millimetres to overcome these obstacles, after which the car will automatically revert back to the sport setting when driving faster than 80 km/h.

While the German tuning specialists are already working on performance upgrades for the 6.5-litre V12 of the 812 Superfast, an initial performance-optimising option is already available. High-performance exhaust system with 110-millimetre tailpipes are already up for grabs with a choice of polished or matte stainless steel finish. There is also an option for Formula 1 racing used Inconel, which allows saving up to eleven kilograms in weight over the production system.
