We all know Brabus’ distinct taste for stylish and unique vehicle upgrades, yet the interesting appeal for this brand doesn’t stop there. We uncover some fascinating facts you might be surprised to hear. From their roots to their most exclusive model – here’s everything you need to know.

1.    HOW DID BRABUS START?

Brabus was born out of passion and the realisation of founder, Bodo Buschmann, and his natural skills at tuning cars. In 1977, Bodo’s father worked at a Mercedes car dealership, and so the family was urged only to drive this model. Yet, Bodo went against his father’s wishes and arrived at his father’s work driving a Porsche. Bodo started to drive a Mercedes-Benz to satisfy his father, but in order to get the speed as impressive as his Porsche he set out to overcome the challenge by adapting his car with his own varying modifications. By finding his passion, Bodo turned his hobby into a world-renowned business.

2.    WHERE THEY ARE BASED?

Brabus after-market tuning parts are made in the company’s headquarters in Bottrop, Germany. As the founder, Bodo Buschmann was German, the company has stayed true to its roots, yet as Brabus has expanded to reach world-domination, they are also active in over 100 countries today.

3.    What’S INTERESTING ABOUT THE LOGO PLACEMENT?

For every Mercedes-Benz car that’s been given the Brabus transformation, they’re marked with a ‘B’ across the body except for on the steering wheel. The reason for this is actually due to safety regulations; the logo on the steering wheel would cover the airbag, so it’s to avoid putting the driver’s safety at risk.
