The stock system is made up of four catalytic converters (two for each bank of the engine), which are integrated together. These then feed into a bulky rear silencer. When you combine this highly restrictive exhaust configuration with a turbocharged car which is already quiet, you get deeply underwhelming original exhaust note which beyond being quiet, actually has a pretty “flat” tonal quality too.

...doesn’t do much. Mclaren only replace their rear silencer with a straight through section. Sadly, this simply doesn’t generate much sound because the source of the aural restriction is primarily the FOUR (!) catalysts which are upstream of the rear silencer. Fit Mclaren’s sports exhaust and you get a slight increase in volume with that same “duff” exhaust tone.

This system DOES address the problem and it does so in a unique way.

• It replaces the OEM catalysts (which are 650 cell each) – all four of them - with either sport catalysts OR full deletes them. (contact us to discuss what’s appropriate for you)
• Next, it replaces the rear silencer too but, it does better than just a straight pipe which is what every other manufacturer does.
• The rear section of the Capristo is manufactured with two “resonation chambers” which actually increase volume over and above a simple straight pipe whilst also a) honing the exhaust tone itself and b) NOT adding to backpressure.
• The system is valve operated and remote controlled. So in it’s “quiet mode”, it sends exhaust gasses through a straight pipe channel, but when it’s in “loud mode” it sends gasses through these resonation chambers to give you that extra volume and lovely sound.
• It’s a UNIQUE and clever technical solution/innovation and it gives a more beautiful, louder, sound than anything else on the market.

Each system comes with a remote control to switch between quiet mode and loud mode. In comparison to the other products purporting to be “sports exhausts” on the market, you’ll find they’re just “boxes” or straight pipes. They’re not comparable. This is really intelligent exhaust sound design from the best in the business.

It delivers a no-nonsense massive power increase – dyno attached on this page - of 48hp and 56 NM torque in 200 cell cat configurations. 100 cell cat and full cat-delete will deliver more.
