The Maserati part number 46328330 exhaust gas sensor is a lambda sensor, also known as an oxygen sensor. It is used to measure the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas. This information is used by the engine control unit (ECU) to adjust the air-fuel mixture to ensure that the engine is running as efficiently as and that emissions are within legal limits.

The exhaust gas sensor is located in the exhaust manifold or downpipe, close to the engine. It is a small, cylindrical device with a threaded end that screws into the exhaust system. The sensor has a heating element inside that helps it to reach its operating temperature quickly.

The sensor contains a ceramic element that is coated with a thin layer of platinum. When the exhaust gas passes over the sensor, the oxygen molecules react with the platinum, generating a voltage signal. The voltage signal is sent to the ECU, which uses it to calculate the air-fuel ratio.
