From the west coast of America to the millionaires’ playground on the Italian Riviera, Ferrari has used some of the most desirable parts of the world as names for various cars. The Ferrari Portofino hard-top convertible slotted into the Prancing Horse line-up after the California was discontinued in 2017, and was launched as part of the car company’s 70th-anniversary celebrations. The car is built on an all-aluminium chassis, which is more than one-third stiffer than its predecessor, while weight-saving was one of the design team’s main focuses, and resulted in a car 176lb (80kg) lighter than the California. The engine is the same 3.8-litre unit as in the GTC4Lusso T, which is de-tuned, but delivers its maximum torque all the way from 3,000 to 5,250rpm. The seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox benefited from slicker shifts thanks to a software upgrade.

Other features carried over from the California included the fluid-filled suspension dampers which compensated in part for a harder suspension than in that car. From the outside, no one could mistake the two cars, the Portofino being much more curvy and substantial-looking, although to more politely paraphrase singer Meghan Trainor, all the right curves are in all the right places, resulting in one of those cars whose appearance will almost invariably be accompanied by onlookers’ jaws involuntarily swinging open.

As for all the bits on the inside which keep the Portofino looking (and running) fine, they’re best fixed and replaced where needed by a specialist in Ferrari aftermarket parts. So come to us at Scuderia Car Parts to make finding one a breeze, because we use many years’ experience as prestige and cherished car owners to offer these businesses a shop window, and can put you directly in touch.  So don’t make finding Ferrari Portofino aftermarket parts a long haul.
