The Porsche Taycan is Porsche’s long awaited first entry into pure EV offerings, expected since the debut of the Porsche Mission E concept car in 2015. With more than 20,000 units delivered in it’s first year of sales, the Taycan is a serious force to be reckoned with and has been met with near universal acclaim from all who have driven in.
Available in both saloon and shooting brake form; the Taycan featured Porsche’s first fully digital instrument display, retractable door handles, a retractable rear spoiler and regenerative braking – it’s replete with the modern conveniences one would expect from Porsche’s premier Electric Vehicle.
The Taycan features an all-wheel-drive drivetrain on all models (except the base Taycan Sport Turismo) with power ranging from 402hp / 345Nm in the base car up to 751hp / 1050Nm in the Turbo S. This power is delivered via a two speed transmission (1st is a planetary gear for acceleration and 2nd is a long ratio gear for high speed & efficiency) and a limited slip differential.
