This Capristo valved sports exhaust system for the Mercedes SL 500 (type R231, manufactured since 2012) is made from T309 stainless, polished steel and includes a CES-3 programmable valve controller. The connections are compatible with the original Mercedes pipes and with the new Capristo system, the car has an extremely powerful sound.

Using the CES-3 control unit means the system is freely adjustable and backpressure-controlled. The system recognises your driving style, allowing you to get the maximum available power.

Most valve controlled exhaust-systems open the valves depending on the driving speed or engine revolutions, but with this, the engine is neither influenced by speed, or revolutions, but by pressure. In the case of a driver hitting the pedal too agressively, the unit will recognise the pressure that has built up and open the valves immediately; under moderate conditions the valves will open later.

The CES-3 unit has control-LEDs and a RDS transmitter, sending the values and functions to the car radio display. Plus, you also get the "Capristo-Control-Center" software where all values can be shown and adjustments can be made. It's also good to know that the system works in three languages: German, Italian and English.
