The letters stand for ‘Gran Turismo Omologato’, which tells us that this car was built to meet FIA’s Group B racing regulations which required a minimum production run of 200 of all participating cars. While its lines are classic Pininfarina, the mechanics borrow unashamedly from F1, most notably its longitudinally-mounted engine sitting over the rear axle.
